Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• If you host: your name, email and profile picture from Google, so your quizzes stay in your account.
• If you play: just the nickname you type, and the kind of phone and browser you use (nothing that tells your phone apart from others). No account needed.
• During a game: the quiz, answers and scores, so we can run the game and show results.
• When you make a quiz with AI: your topic, PDF or photos go to our AI provider to write the questions. We don’t keep your files or photos.
• If you add a cover picture: the photo you choose is stored with your quiz until you change it or delete the quiz. If the quiz is public, other hosts can see it too.
• To keep Sily working: a short record of each AI request, what people search for in the quiz library (not who searched), and a short report when something goes wrong in the app, without your name or email, plus how often the TV app is opened (with an anonymous app ID, not your name). Our hosting providers also keep standard security logs, including IP addresses.

How we use your information

• To run the game: set up the TV, let players join, show the questions and keep score.
• To save and show the quizzes you make or pick.
• To write quiz questions from the topic, PDF or photos you give us.
• To keep Sily safe, fix problems and make it better.

Service providers

We use service providers to run Sily: to sign you in, host the app and its data, pass game updates between the TV and phones as you play, write quiz questions with AI, and find and fix problems. They process data only on our behalf and only to provide these services. Our AI provider does not use this data to train its models. We don’t sell your personal information.

Data retention

• Game results (player nicknames, answers and scores) are kept so hosts and our team can see past games.
• Files and photos you upload to make a quiz aren’t stored. We delete the copy sent to our AI provider within 24 hours (the provider may keep it for up to 30 days to check for abuse).
• A cover picture you add is kept with its quiz. Changing or removing it deletes the old picture, and deleting the quiz deletes its cover.
• AI chats are deleted after 24 hours.
• Quiz library searches are deleted after about 13 months.
• Reports of problems in the app are deleted after 90 days.
• Records of AI requests (what kind of request it was, how big it was and what it cost, and what was sent if it failed) are deleted after 90 days.
• Your account and saved quizzes are kept while your account is active. You can ask us to delete them at any time using the contact below.

Security

Your data is encrypted while it travels between your devices and Sily, and while it is stored by our database and hosting providers. Our storage is private, and only Sily itself reads it to run the app. We don’t look at your quizzes or uploads unless you ask us to help with a problem or the law requires it.

Children’s privacy

Sily is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Players take part using only a nickname they choose.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@sily.tv.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above when we do.
